What gisaclue doesn't like about Pound Bakery:
The food is cooked fine. The trays they give you which come from under the counter are nearly always dirty, stained and have crumbs or bits and pieces from the previous customer. They are collected in and put under the counter without being washed. Same with the cutlery. It is often dirty and has tiny bits of food stuck to it. You have to ask for tea spoons and serviettes. While meeting friends at The Market Tavern Pub on a cold January morning in Kirkby Town Centre, I stumbled upon Poundbakery and decided to pop in for a quick bite to eat. This particular outlet of the bakery chain had a glass fronted display of their offerings, with lovely decor and friendly staff.
