Was Mark Jones at Saffron a mag?
Over priced. The food was ok but the Nan bread was as tough as old boots and had a job eating it and give up in the end. The price is extremely expensive considering we had only bought for two. Which was only two curry's, chips, poppadoms and a nan bread and it was £35.00. So I won't be back unless they sort there pricing out. View all feedback.

What Theo Stewart dislikes about Saffron:
I checked the restaurant's own website for their opening hours and used the online form to make a reservation two days in advance. However, when I arrived at the restaurant, I found a "closed" sign on the door along with updated hours posted in the window. Despite having made a booking, we were not informed that they wouldn't be open, and there has been no communication from them. I've been unable to reach them by ph... View all feedback.

After what had been almost 18 months not having a take away from Saffron, Knighton, I walked in and was immediately welcomed by my first name. Brought a smile to my face! Friendly, warm and welcoming, Saffron also doesn’t let you down when it comes to the food. 7 main dishes and 5 sides all tasted great, especially the King Prawn Exotic, a particular favourite. The team is always happy to chat and welcomes customer engagement. Recommend this restaurant highly. P

I live locally and decided on going here for a meal. I've eaten in hundreds of Indian restaurants and lived in Birmingham for 25 years. Have had take away from here before but thought we would try the eat in experience. We had pre-booked a table for 4 earlier in the day. First impressions from outside are not great. The place looks run down and unkept. To be honest the inside isn't any better. Not a picture on the wall, no music playing and cold. The place felt soulless. When we arrived at 7:30 there were two other tables of two. We ordered poppadoms and dips. These came after about 10 mins. We ordered our starters and mains next. These came after about 10 mins. The starters were nice and fair size portions. As we were half way through our starters a table of 19 came in. They had pre-ordered their food. So the wait for our mains was quite a long time. When the main dishes were nice but mine was a little tepid and the cheese naan was very greasy. The food presentation was good. While we were eating a member of staff was bringing big boxes of pre cooked poppadoms and other things through the restaurant to the kitchen which personally isn't very good practice. I decided before I left to use the toilets which was a big mistake. The toilets are really bad. Smell of urine. There is an open drain in the floor of the men's toilets which the urinals and basin empty into. To be honest they smelt worse than a festival toilet. Avoid using them if you can. Overall I was disappointed with the whole experience. The food was nice but everything else let the place down. No atmosphere, cold and dirty. I wouldn't recommend the eat in experience. Oh.. and it's cash only. Which in this modern age I can't quite work out why??? Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1

Supposed to be open but was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. My wife phoned up beforehand (on Sunday) and was advised that they would be open but only for takeaway. Had friends staying so Saffron ruined our plans and their credibility. The figures below represent what we would have spent x4 people Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40
