This is a regular stop when we are in the area. There are a lot of vegan options which are all generally tasty but some things are way too garlic y. I generally skip over the garlic y sandwiches and opt for their salads which are surprisingly filling (and that's from someone who doesn't usually do salads as a meal). Terrible seats Terrible tables Terrible service my immunity juice has spicy cayenne pepper but WAY too much of it..few sips in already need tums and gonna throw the rest out. sandwiches look like a toddler made it and bagel came out with watery cream cheese that was also all over the top. More expensive than better quality places like fit cafe. The five star four star reviews are a joke.
Ordered one latte, one cappuccino, one coffee, and bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The cappuccino and latte were good, the coffee was so-so. The sandwich was a hard boiled egg sliced up and placed on cheese with bacon and microwaved for a few seconds. Not what you’d expect from a “cafe”. The lady was very nice and the space did have a nice atmosphere.
Smoothies are so delicious. I would get it every day while in OBX. I love this cafe!
Truly exceptional vegetarian and vegan friendly food. Outstanding ingredients; lots of options. Friendly, efficient staff.
Hot latter was like warm. Service was terrible (rude) all that in a half empty 3 table 4 barstools venue.

Their smoothie bowls are really tasty and very filling too! And their butternut squash soup hands down the best I've ever had. The staff is friendly and service is always quick. They almost always have at least one vegan goodie at the counter like some seriously giant cookies!
Whenever I come home (the obx) I make a stop at outer bean for a turmeric latte and a Turkish breakfast.

Cute place that offers a couple vegan options. The vegan sandwich was great!
Outer Bean is one of our favorites for delicious, healthy, homemade vegan food. We love their freshly pressed juices and smoothies, too! The owner and her daughter are usually behind the counter, and their wonderful creations seem to be a labor of love. Everything we have tried is excellent! We are thrilled to have found this OBX gem. (NOTE: we give this 5 stars; however, per Happy Cow we are only allowed to give 4 stars on a review for places that also serve meat)
What a great find! My husband and I have been to the Outer Bean a few times during our vacation, and we've both been very impressed. This place is super cozy with friendly staff and excellent vegan options. I had the vegan breakfast sandwich and the vegan panini, both of which were fantastic. My husband (not veggie) also really enjoyed his meals and coffee. The juices were also great! Definitely will be back to the Outer Bean on future trips to the area.

We stumbled upon Outer Bean Cafe while on vacation and loved it so much we went back 3 more times in one week!! Their Açaí bowl is out of this world and we loved all the other delicious food options with fresh, healthy ingredients. Coffee wasflavorful and made to order. The staff is super friendly and we can?t wait to see them again next trip!!
The food and drinks were good. The service was a mixed bag. The girl at the register was polite and very efficient. The owner or manager was not very nice. We waited about 10 minutes to get to the register and as we were ordering she came over andseemed very annoyed that we were ordering food and then yelled out to the entire store that all food would take 30 minutes toprepare regardless of what was ordered. This is the second time we had a similar experience at this store. It is a shamebecause the menu is good. I don?t think we?ll be back to give it a third try.
