The Bluewood Pub and Eatery - Kitchener

This is a beautiful new pub with live entertainment on Thursdays. Food is local and very nicely presented Service is amazing. Had the MOMMA DIGBY’S MEATLOAF SAMMY and it was delicious and very filling. The wings were great as well and prices were very reasonable. I'm pretty sure the reviewer called Mrhaloween H works for the restaurant "up the street" as his review of this eatery is completely off base and reviews of "that" restaurant aren't nearly as glowing as his. The Bluewood is worth a try for sure.

I took a walk on the wild side and tried this new little dive inside the dump they call the Howard Johnson hotel not to my surprise the place looks good inside but that's about it. You can chance the clothes and dress it up but at the end of the day. Its a dive ya it serves drinks but who doesn't t these days?the food, mediocre at best(that's me being polite) would recommend the new place up the road to anyone with taste and class and this place to the riff raff. I could feel the money just hemorrhaging out of this restaurant fast. Its a shame someone wasted money trying to breath a last breath for life into this place.

Tonight I took my hubby and dad for dinner at the Bluewood Pub and Eatery. While the menu is still being worked out and the selections are limited, they had some intriguing items to choose from. We were greeted promptly and drink orders came swiftly. Everyone decided to get the 2 specials of the day, a potato and bacon soup and the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with apple chutney, roasted carrots and baked potato. The soup was great with fresh bacon and small bits of potato in a cream base. I liked the garnish of green onions and thought it enhanced the flavours. Everyone agreed that the tenderloin medallions were excellent; the apple chutney had a bit of a bite to it without being overpowering. The carrots were crisp and tasty and when I asked for bacon bits for my baked potato, I was brought a small bowl of freshly cooked bacon cut into bits - heaven! All in all, a delightful dinner with pleasant music and a nice atmosphere. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was the lack of dessert - another part of the menu they were still working on - which my dad was really looking forward to.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the owner (Ivan) and his staff. We had our choice of seats, but never felt left alone. The service was quick, and my girlfriend had a specialty drink called a South Pacific. She loved it! We both ordered food- hers being a chicken sandwich ( which she devoured) and I had the meatloaf sandwich. This was a lot of food, but well worth it as it was flavourful and filling. On this particular visit (we will definitely return) there was live entertainment which was nice. I spoke with Ivan about his establishment and learned that he has only just opened in the past 3 months, and has many plans to improve the experience. These plans include a larger menu, patio, and specials. This place is great for anyone or anything.
