Nick & Nat's Uptown21 - Kitchener

Went with friends for Brown Bag Fridays lunch. A unique and satisfying experience in every way. Apparently, this was a restaurant that evolved into a special event venue. In addition to private functions, they offer "special event" meals open to the public.On brownbagfridays, soup, sandwiches, drinks, and dessert are available from 11:30 until sold out and you can take out or find a place at one of the harvest tables. Staff prep's food and you collect it cafeteria style, in a brown bag, and then pay cash. One of our party is vegetarian and comes here often. Some of us chose the soup and sandwich option, one chose the sandwich and dessert option, and stayed in to eat. The dessert was big enough for at least 2 of us to share! Both delicious and wholesome, we'd definitely eat here again.

Our two families rented this venue for a after the fact marriage celebration,the staff were very attentive ,courteous ,and nice to deal with,the location being in uptown Waterloo made it very easy to get to, and it allows you many options for parking or cabs, the venue itself is a bit small but a good size for the daily operations and it worked for us,the food was selected from a menu pre party and turned out to be very tasty,same with the deserts ,drink selection was small but worked for us..look into them if ever in need of location for a special need or maybe for lunch..cheers

I have only been once, for Tapas Tuesday, but I feel like it's a Waterloo must.It's unlimited for $40 and they book the table for the whole night.Everything we ate was awesome. They ask you for allergies, and not for what you don't like. They were super accommodating to my one mild food allergy (and I have heard from gluten free friends that they are accommodating in general).+The service was WONDERFUL. Our server made the whole experience 5 instead of 4+The food was all great, and some fantastic-We wanted to try a variety of stuff, but it wasn't all super small plates! I love seafood and my bf doesn't. We got two seafood plates, one quite large, early on. I loved both but I was STUFFED later, which made me enjoy the rest less+They made my bf extra after of the dish he loved+We tried cool things we'd never tried before+Would go back in a heartbeat+++++ WELL worth the money+The sangria is great, too!

This was always my fav restaurant that I saved for special occasions. It's been 2 yrs since my last visit so there was no occasion this time except was looking forward to the delicious tapas that I remembered. I was a bit disappointed with today's menu, I know it's hard to pls everyone but I just remembered it being more "special" though there were some memorable bites (the fried chicken, curry salad & panacotta were amazing!!) but majority was vegetables (I don't know that there was a vegetable left out tonight.) The "sloppy joe poutine" and "turkey meatloaf" we're very underwhelming and we found the same flavor profile was used multiple times. I'm still undecided if I'll do the tapas menu again.

This restaurant serves small plates (similar to tapas). We were a group of ten and rather than trying to come up with a selection, we just relied on the waiter to bring a selection out, chosen by the restaurant. This was an excellent decision. The food was lovely and sophisticated, the waiter kept in touch with us about whether we wanted anything else, and we had a wonderful time. It is not the usual dining experience, but I loved it.
