What Darryl Jast doesn't like about Crowne Plaza:
Had the Mediterranean Greek salad. Quite nice but tell them the dressing on the side please. Why do they insist on drowning the salads? Good breakfast for the money. View all feedback.
There was a limited selection of lunch items, the restaurant was cold.We ordered the burger and selected soup as our side dish, and the soup of the day was Lobster Bisque, which was very nice, but my husband requested an up-grade to Clam Chowder. On the the menu, Lobster Bisque was $7 and Clam Chowder was $8. When the bill arrived, he had been charged an ADDITIONAL $8 for having Clam Chowder! When I questioned this the waiter said that the bill was correct.I have never before been charged in this way for making a small adjustment to the meal - normally, we would expect to pay the difference between the two prices. We were also the first couple in the restaurant at lunch time, and while we were ordering three or four other groups came in. They were all served before we were. Our time was limited and we had to rush our meal, even though we had allowed plenty of time to eat.The whole meal was disappointing.
Had breakfast and dinners. This was very convenient since we were having an early breakfast and late dinners due to our schedule. Very thankful. Very good food.
Stayed over in the hotel and had a breakfast included. You could tell that the food had been prepared properly and not just reheated out of a bag or box. The waitress made sure we had orange juice and coffee quickly and made sure our plates were cleared as soon as we were done. She offered to send us off with a coffee to go, which we gladly accepted. With fresh food and an excellent and friendly waitress, our day was off to a great start. Of course, being included in the cost of the room helped out immensely. Based on all factors, I'd eat here anyway.
While the hotel pretty much sucked... our meal at this restaurant was really, really great! Excellent portion sizes and wonderfully prepared. Had breakfast here the next morning and it wasn't too bad. Dinner was definitely the highlight!
The service was very good and the food was too. I ordered the crab cakes which were tasty and the beet, squash and goat cheese salad. This was good but not enough beets or squash relative to the amount of arugula. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
