The Sri Lankan fish curry sauce is amazing, but it is spoiled by the fact that the fish is battered. The chapati bread is also very greasy.

I ordered lamb biryani which on the menu... read more Although Laxmi is usually a good place to experience something more unusual, my meal was very disappointing this time. I ordered lamb biryani which on the menu said lamb, vegetables, rice and a curry sauce. The veg turned out to be frozen sweetcorn and peas, almost as much as there was rice. I don’t like sweetcorn and wasn’t expecting to find it in the dish, definitely not in the vast amount there was. Way too much to be picked out. To be fair, they recooked it but just replaced the sweetcorn with extra peas. They definitely do other dishes well, but this one is not one of them. Take it off the menu if it can’t be done well.
