Very bad experience tonight . Firstly please do not think you can eat you food without your jumper and jacket on as it’s freezing in here. They don’t put fires on and it was so uncomfortable . On to dinner. On arrival waited 15 minutes to be asked if we would want a drink . We then ordered dinner, I ordered pizza and a side of fries. I never got fries as I guess they forgot as I ordered two things which to be fair is multi tasking. However when the bill came they still added the missing fries to the bill My wide enjoyed her dinner however she was so cold it was a horrible experience for her and she could not wait to leave . Needless to say unlikely to be back as much better options in Kirkintilloch

Ate here this evening, if im honest, initially thought prices looked a bit steep, however, after ordering Sirloin steak and Bacon Steak I have to say it was worth every penny, excellent food, best steak ive had in ages, really excellent, cooked to perfection! Also on arrival we were sat at a small table opposite a door leading to the beer garden and it was quite drafty, we asked for a change of seat and the staff could accommodate us immediately which was very helpful, we aren't fussy but it was a proper draft when the door opened, so thanks for that! Lovely meal, super food, lovely staff.

Nice looking pub next to a canal. Beautiful interior and lovely staff. Decent looking menu with a lot of food to choose. But after waiting quite a lot the food we got was not tasty enough to justifie the price. It says: premium steak burger, loaded with Cornish smoked BBQ beef brisket, mature Cheddar, smoked streaky bacon, cheese sauce and served with beer-battered onion rings. What you get is far from that. Super overcooked burned tasteless dry patty, that you can barely cut with knife. Two piece of bacon, beef brisket nowhere to be seen or tasted!? cheese sauce? Don't know maybe I missed that as well, but didn't tasted it for sure and beer battered onions did spend few minutes too much I fryer. Fries all sticked together like a tennis ball. Price 18.75£!?!? I had better burgers in wetherspoons for 8£ with drink. My wife had Hunter’s Chicken Schnitzel. It was ok,but also quite boring. Piece of chicken breasts with 2 slice of bacon and larger frozen fries... price 18.95£.... what??? Meatball pasta for my daughter... 8.95 with drink. Small portion for kids with 4 meatballs in. Drink supposed to be blackcurrant juice, but we never got it. Again...to expensive for what it is. You guys must do better if you want to justify price and have people comeback. Cheers

More information

Regular guests often name-check individual servers and the kitchen team — staff like Kelsey, Gary and Kayleigh and the chef (mentioned by diners) are frequently singled out by return visitors. The kitchen’s vegan mushroom and spinach pie has built a quiet cult following among vegetarians, so asking staff for their recommendations can turn a good meal into a great one.
