beautiful small coffee spot with a large selection of books for sale. the owner was a flight pilot, so the place is full of air pictures, books and other memories. they do not have many vegan options, but they have toasts and müsli. ah! and they make toasts for 1€! updated by the previous review on 2021-11-29 View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Flying Poet:
After reading previous reviews from 2021, I noticed that there were vegan options available. However, when I visited four to six months ago, there were no vegan lunch options offered. It was unclear if things were sold out or simply not on the menu. The restaurant looked very nice though! I would consider returning once vegan options are available. View all feedback.
Poet’s Corner is a sweet little café where you can trade a book (in good condition) for another used book. You can also enjoy hot/cold drinks and sweet and hearty snacks. For vegans they have soup, a sandwich, a salad, some pastries and vegetable milk for coffee/tea.
This restaurant is a lovely spot with numerous vegan choices available. We tried a toast topped with guacamole, cucumber, tomato, and mixed greens that was incredibly delicious. Additionally, they offer a variety of plant-based milks such as soy, oat, almond, and coconut.
This restaurant is located in a charming area, just a block away from the waterfront. They have a wide variety of books, all in great condition despite being secondhand, and the atmosphere is inviting and cozy. While the menu is not extensive, the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
I went to this café on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30pm. The only vegan food choice available was a vegan toastie. I ordered it, paid 7 euros, and waited for 30 minutes to receive 2 slices of toast with a bland guacamole, a few salad leaves, and some tomato and cucumber slices. The toastie was not tasty and did not fill me up. I would have appreciated some hummus, avocado, or tofu in it, but unfortunately, this version was a letdown. I do not recommend it.
The vegan toastie consisted of two thick slices of bread that were not toasted enough, lacking butter or olive oil, and with only a small amount of tomato and avocado. It was not satisfying or enjoyable. They could definitely improve on this dish. This was the only vegan option available. They also offer oat milk for coffees.
