Jarrito's Mexican - Kingstree
Jarrito's Mexican
Description
An offbeat, hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant offers standout dishes—fajitas, nachos, and fried ice cream—with authentic flavors and generous portions at times. However, experiences vary widely: some diners praise quick seating and helpful servers, while others report slow service, order mistakes, undercooked seafood, weak margaritas, and unfair extra charges. Expect a casual, family-friendly spot with charming highs and frustrating lows; consistency is the main caveat.

The food was fantastic! The restaurant had a slightly odd smell, but overall, it was fine.
The food was absolutely terrible, like a nightmare on a plate. The beans resembled a sad puddle, and I won’t even get started on the shrimp that clearly weren't cleaned properly. The tacos were drier than the Sahara Desert! Seriously, no onions? And who puts lettuce on tacos? The salsa tasted more like ketchup. As for the margarita, it might as well have been just a glass of water with a lime wedge. What’s with serving American tacos and calling them Mexican? Carrots in the rice? That’s just ridiculous! Overall, it was simply awful. On top of that, we waited forever for someone to take our drink or food order! Let’s discuss this further!
I placed a call-in order, but they mistakenly gave my food away. They informed me that it was no longer available, so I had to place a replacement order.
The customer service was terrible. We sat for 45 minutes, and the server, who was Black, kept saying he would be back to take our order. When he finally asked if we were ready and I said yes, he still walked away. I won't spend any more money here, especially since we were the only ones dining in. Eventually, another server came over just 8 minutes before closing time.
