healthy beat cafe - Kingston

I came looking for the healthy beat and found a Fardellas. So of course i grabbed a fritter and had some fish and chips. Looking at the menu i see all the things fardellas has at the other stores plus some new things like a turkey bacon avocado wrap and a few vegetarian options.Big change here looks and tastes great.

Sad, loved this place! Now ready made sandwiches, no gluten free bread. Limited to 3 special a day and a soup. Always crowded. Sure service is faster, but not for me! A great gem, changed! Great place to grab a ready made item and drink! Miss the old way!

I went in for lunch this week and found a new, smaller menu.The downside is that they have only one Special each day ( I was there for home-made Fish and Chip Day, Pulled Pork was next).Then upside is that there was virtually no wait time.i was in, ordered and got my lunch as fast as it could be coooked and served.And the quality continues to shine through.Smaller menu == faster service!!! a great trade-off as i only eat one meal at a time

A few months ago I wrote a glowing review of this place as a breakfast and lunch place. The food was great, local ingredients and well priced. However, on my last visit the lunch menu was very much diminished and although the food was good, the choice has been reduced and sandwiches are now prepared. Oh well, it looks like success was too much and that's too bad.

There isn't a lot of selection within walking distance in this area of town, but this place is a 5 min hike from the office so it's a regular haunt. The sandwiches are good and everyone loves the fries. There are a 1/2 dozen tables so unless you hit it right a peak hours your should be able to get a seat. Pretty good value also.
