After going to our old reliable, Willimantic Brewing Company, we found a completely new and pretentious menu that does not match the once beloved food we loved... read more After going to our old reliable, Willimantic Brewing Company, we found a completely new and pretentious menu that does not match the once beloved food we loved so well. Ah, it's okay. Why is it okay? We found a new reliable in Railside Tavern. The dinner was literally half the price of what we paid at Willi. Anything you order will be made to satisfy your craving. My husband asked if they could prepare sautéed spinach as a side, and since spinach was on the menu raw, the kitchen agreed to cook the spinach and saute it. Where can you go and get that kind of service? The meat melts in your mouth here, the fries are the crispy kind with the skin still on, and the seafood... Don't get me started. We will be coming up for dinner at least once a week. And, the money we save by eating here as compared to old reliable, will be given as gratuity to the amazing waitstaff. Whoever is making the executive decisions for the amazing food needs a Michelin. Seriously. Thank you for giving inland, Eastern Connecticut, a real elegant place to eat, in a come as you are environment. You are loved.

We started with the Portuguese stuffed clams and New England clam chowder. The whole belly clams were fresh and delicious, we also had the fish sandwich and Railside burger. Awesome! Highly recommended if you are looking for a nice restaurant with great food and service.
