First timer. New to the area. Tried this place and I was a little skeptical. Bc of the location (inside gas station) I am glad we gave it a chance. Fried catfish was very good. Cheesy fried potatoes is a soup lol and it was actually good. A little heavy so I will only eat that every blue moon. Greens tasted good but seems like canned greens in my opinion. Bae got the catfish nawlins a little oily and had little crawf... View all feedback.
What Pamela Johnson doesn't like about Father And Son's:
Went to Father Sons. First of all you can't find it right off. Just FYI it's in the Exxon gas station with a small sign in the window. There isn't a sign outside. We got there about 7:30 pm after trying to find a place to eat since this is where my visiting son wanted to get a poboy from. Google said the restaurant closed at 8pm. I normally try not to go a restaurant at closing. When we got there they were closed and... View all feedback.
I came back to killeen and visited one of my favorite family owned business for the catfish nawlins but I am very disappointed. The rice was cold so I decided to pick up the catfish and shrimps in order to reheat the rice then found these black nasty things under it. Pretty sure these are not part of the recipe… it was way too much and tasted burnt so I gave up. Paid over $21.00 for this portion and quality really upsets me.

I normally try not to go a restaurant at closing. When we got there they were closed and had been over 30 mins. If the restaurant closes at 7:30 pm PLEASE update the website. It's nothing worst than going to a restaurant and have your mouth ready for one thing and then get there and they have closed early. Maybe they closed on time but the website says otherwise
The place was ok. The food alittle pricey though. You should be able to get 2 sides for the price of the food but instead they charge you for the 2 sides which is usually unheard-of. The sides are pricey from $5.95& up? the food was ok. Cabbage over cooked and dirty rice was mushy. First time experience and I was looking for a good Cajun shrimp restaurant to go to. I spent over $54. The customer service was good. I just don't think you should charge extra for the sides. I may have missed reading something. A out of towner looking for some good food.
The most disappointing thing is having a taste for something and it being dirty. Chicken that is yellow or gray is not fresh and not safe to eat. I see why they have a sign that says “absolutely no refunds”. Should have made my own.Edit to add: based on the response of the establishment, I will give this spot another chance. Organizations that respond to their customer’s concerns deserve that much. It shows they care about their business. Rating changed from 1 to 3 for that gesture and with an understanding the chicken was marinated in something leaving the color.
I 've been here a couple different times, and I 'm sad to say that I 'm very displeased. I personally know the owner and master chef, and never once have I had the luxury of actually being served the food that HE is cooking. Everything on the menu looks so mouth-watering, however it does not come out looking like that. I don 't know who is working the kitchen... The crab legs that I was served were extremely skinny, and once cracked open more than 3/4 of them were actually empty.... No meat in the crab legs ... Everything DROWNED IN BUTTER. ?At first glance I thought there were Sesame seeds, on the crab ... But once I realized that 's not what they were I asked the man why there were tiny eggs on the crab legs, the cashier/waiter told me, it 's nothing to worry about, I 'm from Boston and I 've seen all types of barnacles.. when I said these are NOT barnacles though , he replied that he didn 't know what exactly they were....but that I could thank Sam 's club for that. I LOVE seafood and have eaten it my whole life.. never have I seen these on the shells. Not once have I ever enjoyed the food I have received from this establishment. And I 've come back hoping it was just a bad day....But upon looking into it further, I have found out that these are Marine Leach eggs, or crab mites. Crab is SUPPOSED TO BE SCRUBBED CLEAN BEFORE COOKING.I hate that I had to leave this kind of review but I really felt the disappointment after this last visit and spending such an amount, just to throw everything away.I am just confused. YOUR MENU looked SENSATIONAL On the websites pictures, I wish it had been a better experience for myself and my daughter 's. Please do better for any future guests.
