Contribute FeedbackThe Yew Tree restaurant at Muckross Park Hotel offers a fine dining experience with top-notch service and delicious food. Despite some negative reviews, our experience was impeccable with wonderfully paired wines and exceptional service. The menu focuses on high-quality ingredients cooked to perfection, with standout dishes like pineapple and curryeis. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff create a memorable dining experience. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food and service justifies it. Whether staying at the hotel or in Killarney, the Yew Tree restaurant is a must-visit for a special, culinary experience.
The wine list is outrageously priced, with €90 for a subpar Chablis being particularly unforgivable. The three-course menu looked enticing on their website, but the actual dishes fell flat. The scallops were tiny, overcooked, and rubbery—so much so that they kindly removed them from the bill after my complaint. The turbot lacked any distinct flavor, although the Hollandaise sauce was acceptable. The honey parfait was mostly sweet with little taste. The highlight of the meal was my wife's steak, which is usually a safe choice in Ireland, but there was an extra €10 charge for it. In total, our bill came to €260 for two, and from a culinary standpoint, it was a letdown. While the hotel itself is lovely, our dining experience was a regrettable waste of money.
This has been the best meal I've experienced in Ireland to date. The food was expertly prepared and elevated without being overly pretentious. The service was outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed every dish, all of which were perfectly cooked. We opted for the three-course tasting menu, which was definitely worth it, especially since the desserts were incredible. Given the quality of the meal, I found the pricing to be very reasonable, and I'm really pleased that we chose this restaurant during our trip.
The food was delightful and the service outstanding. The atmosphere was pleasant and serene. This restaurant provides a fine dining experience right at the hotel, assuming you're staying at the Muckross Resort. It is a bit pricier, especially when compared to restaurants in town, with prices at 57 euros for two courses or 60 euros for three. However, the exceptional service and high-quality food justify the cost. We were thoroughly satisfied with every dish we tried. While the portion sizes were on the smaller side, that is typical for fine dining.
Breakfast was a lovely experience. There was always plenty of food, and the staff was very attentive with the service. You get a continental breakfast along with a hot dish. The vegan breakfast was also very good!
Our experience at this restaurant was wonderful. The food was outstanding, with a focus on high-quality ingredients prepared perfectly. The atmosphere was a perfect blend of classic elegance and relaxation. We enjoyed it so much on our first visit that we returned again during our stay at the hotel.
