It was a rainy miserable day in Killar... read more My husband and I were in Killarney for a couple of days and had thee most gorgeous and delicious meal in this restaurant. It was a rainy miserable day in Killarney, but, once you step into this oasis, it was so cosy, warm and thee most atmospheric restaurant that I have been in a long long time. The owners Roger and Kathy were so welcoming and friendly. Kathy was absolutely soo lovely, she went far and beyond to make us feel welcome. She spoke and engaged with us in an unhurried way. She was an outstanding host. In fact, we had a common interest 'skincare '....And she kindly gave me some skincare products, thank you very much Kathy. Everything about this restaurant is 10 out of 10, the food amazing and a lot of vegetarian choices, the ambience and atmosphere is just gorgeous and the overall experience..well we can 't wait to come back. Shar... read more Lucky to get a Saturday booking but welcomed warmly. Great buzz, nice tunes in background. Took a while for food to deliver but the restaurant was hopping. Shared super quality spicy Wings. Had a nice Chardonnay. I ordered fillet medium rare with onion/mushroom base with side of mash potato which I think Roger is famous for!! I’d rattle him a Michelin plaque on that alone. She had a beautifully crisp and hot pan-fried Sea Bass with light sides. Sublime. Against all rules we shared a Tiramusu, which we Googled to mean “a pick up”. It was delicious with perfect moisture and a nice vanilla ice to accompany. Service was lovely, warm and friendly. Particularly Caithriona and stand-in barman Karim. I have known chef Patron Roger all my life. There may be bias, but if you want wholesome food, competitively priced in a very casual surrounding, then check out Stonechat off High Street, Killarney. Happy to say, I never had a bad meal here.

I met Charlotte and Dermot tonight and was astounded at both their sheer capabilities and charisma. They couldn 't steer me wrong .. one delicious bite after the next. Unbelabable. I said, hey I don 't think I 'd like that but they were like trust me and I did. Grapefruit? Delicious. They 're all good friends in there and you can tell by vibes. Great atmosphere. The banoffie pie was the best dessert I 've ever had. I almost got a second one but thankfully a very thoughtful woman said maybe two desserts is enough . She was right.
