Stopped in for cocktails and dessert, what a delight! Sticky Toffee Pudding and Banoffee Pie was heavenly.

This restaurant was exquisite. It was recommended to me by a friend and I could not have been happier that I fit it into my trip! The service was absolutely stunning thanks to our server Steven, and the food… simply delectable. I had the ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection and my grandma (who is 65+ said that the wild hake was that best fish she had had in her life.

Stonechat Restaurant is an absolute treasure. Perfectly located in the heart of Killarney, it’s tucked away down a charming little alleyway — the kind of place you almost don’t want to tell too many people about because it’s such a find. Inside, the restaurant is full of character, with warm, traditional vibes. Every detail feels carefully thought out, creating an intimate, cosy, and beautifully curated atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The food was exceptional — you can truly taste the freshness and high quality of the ingredients. Everything is homemade, offering a wonderful mix of traditional Irish dishes alongside some unique creations. There’s something for every palate here, with gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options available, yet still embracing all the hearty classics. We’ve been coming to Kerry for many years, and discovering Stonechat was such a pleasant surprise — it’s now firmly on our “must visit” list. The chowder and lamb were standouts, easily the best we’ve had in Kerry. If you’re in Killarney, do yourself a favour and visit. This place is special.
