Murphy Brownes - Killarney

While in Ireland I was craving lamb for dinner. This restaurant in Killarney really delivered. Mouthwatering and tender the lamb shank fit the bill. The decor and service were also outstanding! Don’t miss an opportunity to dine here while in this lovely town.

This is a great spot for dinner in Killarney. Service was great. Atmosphere pleasant. Lamb shanks were out of this world good! Highly recommend!

My husband and I came here for dinner for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. Absolutely amazing food. I had the bruschetta to start and my husband had the coca cola chicken wings. For mains my husband had the ribeye steak with all the trimmings and I had the fragrant curry. They said the curry was like a Korma but it really wasn't. But it was still a nice curry. For dessert my husband had the chocolate and coconut Tarte with passion fruit sorbet and I had the cheesecake of the day which was salted caramel cheesecake. I still think about that cheesecake, it was amazing. We really enjoyed ourselves. We definitely can't wait to go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 days in Ireland and there were so many highlights from the atmospheric scenery through to the welcoming and friendly locals. However Murphy Brownes was an OUTSTANDING highlight of the holiday. Food cooked to perfection (I loved the leek and potato soup and the sea bass was sublime. The same can be said for Gina’s duck and main course of chicken). The service was impeccable (and that was on a busy Saturday evening) We could not fault a thing. Denis and Dee have a great restaurant and are deservedly filling their tables so I’d definitely recommend booking to avoid disappointment. And Dee thank you for running down the High Street at a busy time to return my phone shouting out “Mr Guernsey” to catch my attention that I’d left behind. Again wow! You are a star. If you are in Killarney do give this restaurant a visit.

Although a small place they went out of their way to find us a table for 6 and our server was quite personable despite how busy they were and the fact that only 2 people were working. The beer battered fish and chips was delicious chips were crispy and piping hot as was the healthy portion of cod. The beef lasagna was large and satisfying. Both items were served w side salads. Potato leek soup was out of this world. Friendly spot.
