Authentic and by the sea. Beautiful and pleasant.
We stayed overnight in our motorhome in the car park, and it was a fantastic spot with stunning views and a lovely two-hour walk around the loop. The Helena Bar was charming, offering a great pint of Guinness for €4.50 and delicious seafood. We also had breakfast there the next morning and were very pleased. If you’re coming from Kenmare, it’s best to stick to the Twosist road and avoid relying on the satnav for the fastest route, as the final stretch took us down a narrow, challenging road that felt like landing Apollo 13.
