An OBX staple that lives up to the hype. The fish sandwiches and dinners are awesome. I recommend the grouper if they have it. The hush puppies are also delicious. And the bisque... Oh the bisque... What Randy W doesn't like about Awful Arthur's Oyster:
I've been visiting Awful Arthur's for years, but I won't be returning. During my last visit a month ago, the service was slow, the atmosphere was noisy, and overall the service was poor. Additionally, the prices were very high for what we received! My family and I live in Southern Shores, NC, and we've frequented Awful Arthur's often, but that last experience was definitely our last. This place was so delicious! we knew there would be a long wait (we were told two hours, but ended up only waiting one) so we got there a bit earlier than we wanted to eat. we enjoyed drinks and the beautiful views from the upstairs lounge before being seated downstairs. everyone was very nice and accommodating and the food was wonderful!
Annual tradition of waiting it out for hours to get a seat at the raw bar for dinner (even though I have a shellfish allergy). The wife loves her some family traditions. She’s been going for 35+ years with her family (and the last 12 with me). Great service. Great food. Just a great tradition. #ThanksAwfulArthurs
Another classic since early 2000s over been going never disappoint me!! Amazing!!!
Divey oyster joint. Waitress really knew her stuff.
Fresh local seafood! Good selection of local beers available. Service was better than average even though they were very busy. Seating was a bit cramped.
