What PennyP dislikes about Coconuts Fish Cafe:
I ordered the ono cooked with butter and lemon. It was dry, coleslaw was ok. For the Keiki menu the macaroni and cheese is Kraft. Disappointed based on all the positive reviews View all feedback.
Fish tacos were great however eating them was difficult as they were overstuffed with ingredients. Asked for additional tortilla to eat all the fallout. They denied my request even if I paid for it as the chef insisted the spillage was intended to be part of the experience. I however disagree. The ingredients are enough for three tacos and I would have gladly spent the money on additional tortilla however when asked the manager said the chef insisted it be this way. Totally strange
Actually, I did not eat here, as I am allergic to seafood. The rest of my family got their seafood fix there. They all had a great meal there.
In a strip mall. I had fish and chips. One piece was Mahi Mahi and one was Ono. The Ono was fishy. When I told server, he basically shrugged and did not offer to make it right. I asked for a different piece.
The fish tacos and the the seafood pasta are our go tos but everything we've had has been excellent and the prices are reasonable.
The best fish tacos on maui. 5 stars.
