From the channel road Kastanienallee to go towards Holtenau lighthouse, just find the location on the left. The café has long been a ship supplier and equipment store. The pier has been named after the deceased ship Chandler and entrepreneur Hermann Tiessen since 1976. The store has been transformed into this fantastic location where you are able to sit inside or outside and watch the ships and boats going past. It is a cool café where you can drink cold and warm drinks (beer incl. or have the famous Bismarck Hering on a roll, muffins or pieces of cake at reasonable prices. On Sundays you also dance tango from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m., but you have to have dance skills to compete with the "upper dogs". Monday from service, daily from 10 a.m. to dawn (April to mid October or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (winter/fall).
