Contribute FeedbackGood weekend with my best friend in Kiel. For them the first visit there, of course I wanted to pamper them especially and show them the most beautiful what Kiel has to offer. For the first night I had an idea that was associated with a certain risk. I remember the stories of my Kiel uncle, who always held his special occasions and business dinners in Claudio in the 80s and always fade. Claudio had opened a new restaurant a few years ago, but I hadn't done it yet. So I reserved a few weeks in advance by email confirmed by Claudio after a few days. He also explained the concept. There is a 5-course menu at the price of 50 EUR per person created and set by it daily. I could have given it a bit, but these are not available to both of us. The Claudio alla Scala is a bit from the city, but still walking from the horns and the train station so we used the beautiful weather to walk from the Atlantic Hotel in a few minutes. It enters the property via a garage courtyard that offers parking and leads to the beautiful terrace of an old brick building that once houses a workshop. Claudio and his son Francesco warmly welcomed us with the beautiful feminity in my accompaniment. My friend was allowed to choose the most beautiful table, which was beautifully decorated with candles and rose petals. Wonderful! Aperitivo, Signori? Of course! Champagne or della casa? Della Casa! Della Casa was very delicious as campari with Angostura and Cherry Liqueur poured with Prosecco! Fruity, thick olives and freshly baked bread were served as an aperitive. A beautiful beginning. And then first little band, like Claudio was expressing himself. Two large plates with San Daniele ham. That made us smile. It followed the choice of wine, Francesco gave a recommendation. A kiss from Sauvignon Blanc and Tokajer Traube from the winery Di Stefano, who naturally woke my interest Francesco came with the bottle and two beer glasses. I always find it nice when the table lady is involved in the process. I tried and was thrilled. The Tokaj grapes gave the otherwise delicious and spicy wine a wonderful heart. Something very special my friend saw this too and we ordered the bottle that was perfectly cooled. The second gear. Carpaccio from salmon and tuna to grape seed oil and pumpkin sorbet. A poem! Tasteful explosions at every bite. Grandios! Fulminant! In the meantime, more guests arrived and it was very interesting to observe their reactions delayed! They are in most cases ours. The third gear. Double pasta with scalops and tiger pawns. There is even a picture for that. And it tasted as good as it looked. The fresh sea I often quoted was ubiquitous. The wonderful dishes and the beautiful ambience on the terrace were painted by discretely playful opera aquariums. There were always interesting anecdotes from Claudio in a pleasant little conversation. We felt very, very comfortable! The wine bottle was drowned now. So I ordered another one before the main course. Claudio said we wouldn't have to drown them, he would also calculate proportionally. Very hospitable! The fourth gear. Rabbit filled with black olives on white wine sauce and with parmesan gratinated fennel. This also tasted very good, but the part was a little big and I had no contrast point both design and taste. Easy, but really easy deductions here. After the main course Claudio came back to us and asked me if we were from Kiel. I agreed and he asked how he found him. I told him. He was clearly satisfied and told about the good old time of lush business dinners without politicians and tax authorities. My friend and I could understand that well, we feel like the high-quality gastronomy suffers. We look forward to the 5th course. Before that I went back to the small restaurant, which was very lovingly developed and furnished by Claudio and Francesco himself. The opera theme can be found again and I am sure you can spend a nice, cuddly evening here even in bad weather. The dessert. Fresh strawberries with mangosorbet on a magnificent champagne sauce. Wonderful, but barely from the crowd. The Digestiv came right at the house. We talked to Claudio for a while before we asked about the bill after 3 hours. That was handwritten and a real jewel! (A printed invoice was of course also available. The wine was EUR 44 per bottle and the second was calculated to EUR 3/4, i.e. EUR 33. Very fair! Claudio and Francesco thank you for the wonderful evening. We look forward to the next visit.
