Saw a big sign outside saying express lunch deal 159 baht, I wanted to charge my phone as it was out of battery from night train I needed to find my hotel have some aircon, so a nice restaurant is perfect for this.. I was seated, put my phone on charge went to the bathroom.. took at least 20 minutes for anybody to come over to me.. all of the special lunch menu contain meat or prawns, I asked the waiter, it’s possible to order the prawn pad Thai, but you can leave the prawns out, I was told yes but would cost 350baht.. I asked is there anything on set menu veggie, he said no.. I asked if anything can do with just without the meat, I was expected sauces to be remade etc just for them simply to not add the prawns to the pan. He said only this but will be 350baht.. look I’m all for being fair paying what’s right.. but how can a 4star hotel offer a lunch deal that contains not 1 single veggie option out of about 14 mains? He seemed less bothered about this.. I then said okay thank you but I will go somewhere else, to which the entire restaurant staff (including chefs) were intensely staring at me! It’s not all about the food either, service appalling, waiting a long time for somebody to even come over, even though they seat you so they know you’re there!
