I had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant! I tried the vegetable buffet bakery and absolutely loved it. The chef is able to make any of the vegetarian dishes vegan, so I had a variety of options to choose from. I also enjoyed the delicious bruschetta as an appetizer.
The game kabobs at this restaurant are fantastic! The service is quick, and I also enjoyed the sweet potato casserole and cobbler. Ryan and Bailey provided excellent service. They do not take reservations, and lodge guests do not receive priority seating, but you can call ahead to be added to the waitlist.
During our stay in one of the cabins, we dined at the restaurant for dinner once and breakfast twice. While the breakfasts were satisfactory, the dinner fell short of our expectations. Upon our arrival, we opted for the prime rib and baked potato for my wife, which was decent but not outstanding. I chose a fish special, which was walleye baked in breadcrumbs and pesto with vegetables. Unfortunately, the pesto lacked any discernible flavor, and the fish was overly bony. The mixed vegetables seemed overcooked and lacking in taste. In contrast, both breakfasts were simple but enjoyable. The first breakfast featured a ham, cheddar, and mushroom omelet with sourdough toast and potatoes, while the second included a breakfast burrito and hotcakes with eggs, meat, and potatoes. Overall, I would rate our dining experience at this restaurant as average, with the breakfast offerings and prime rib being the highlights.
