Excellent food every time. Attentive Staff every time. Apps, Sandwiches, Burgers, Pizzas, are all exciting choices. Mac and Cheese is awesome. So is the Meatloaf. Everything is so well prepared, all with the bonus of a great vibe in a cool building. As much as I hate writing this, as we’ve gone to Old Glory plenty of times (especially recently) this past time was possibly one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. First off, we ordered our drinks. One soda came out pretty gross, and when we asked for a different drink, we waited over 20 mins and had to remind the serverwe can look past that. However, dinner service was unexplainably bad and unprofessional. My date ordered a pasta dish with gluten free pasta, as they can get very sick eating gluten. This was absolutely not gluten free pasta, the one we’ve always had here. We wanted to confirm with our waitress that the pasta was gluten free, and she seemingly didn’t know what to say and nervously said it was. After telling her our concern and asking to send it back, she pretty much blew it off and told us “that she was vegan, so she understands how we can get confused.” First of all, two absolutely different scenarios. Second of all, if we were so concerned about eating a dish that could actually harm us, why try and justify anything. Why not offer another dish? Offer to take it back, especially after we asked? Whatever. Worst part of the night was the managerI hate having to escalate to the manager but this was a serious matter. The manager definitely took his time, as we waited a good amount of time before we even saw him. He walked up to the table as if we were bothering him, put his hands down on the table right next to our other food, and the first words out of his mouth were “So you’re Pasta Girl.” Then, he proceeds to “show us” what a pasta noodle containing gluten looks like by putting it right next to my datemind you she can’t be near gluten let alone eat it. Again, trying to justify themselves when there’s obviously a concern, and a completely reasonable one at that. Then, winks at me and laughs like I was in on the laugh against my own date. Smart guy. My main complaint isn’t even the obviously incorrect order. It’s the manner in which a MANAGER of all people acted. Why not just offer a new dish? Or just remake it. It’s the right thing to do. Of course we paid for the dish, regardless of not touching it, but this was probably our last visit until changes are made. Food was good but the beer cheese dip tasted and looked like instant redskin cheesy potatoes which at first I was like not bad but then I asked cause I was like ok potatoes as a dip is different but the waitress said it was a beer cheese. I promise you that wasn't beer cheese but idk tasted like mashed potatoes to me. The short rib Mac and cheese I asked for BBQ sauce cause it felt like it was missing it and made it taste better than what was served. The food and vibe was cool. It's in a old church so that's a cool use of an existing building. The historical uncle sam outfit was my favorite thing there very cool to see something that historical in a town restaurant. December 30, 2024: 4:35pm. We went into the restaurant prior to any dinner rush. It was to celebrate our daughters birthday. A few people at the bar and three tables were filled. We were seated promptly and waited. About 15 minutes eclipsed without being acknowledged. Another table came in, the wait staff took their orders. We waited. From sitting down to the time we left almost 20 minutes past. Nothing, no water, no order, no service. I couldn't really score this because we were never served. Zero wasn't an option. The building was beautiful. The menus were well written, serving a wide range of food that we could not experience. The service, non-existent. I'm chalking this up to poor supervision and customer service. If you are hungry, thirsty or in a hurry, I highly suggest another place. We went to another local place that was excellent. The food..abundant! The service: friendly and attentive. The atmosphere: warm and friendly. One table celebrated a birthday and we All sang. It was such fun! I was so happy they have a handicap entrance. FANTASTIC experience. My first time there. Will NOT be my last. I walked in for lunch and left with enough food for dinner also. Food was delicious. Worth every penny. French fries were plentiful and delicious. I had a ny steak French dip and loved it..couldn't finish in one sitting. And the cheesy garlic bread appetizer is a MUST to share.
