We were both extr... read more Returned here after a fairly long absence for a birthday treat. My wife had her usual Sirloin Steak whilst I plumped for the Chilli Con Carne. We were both extremely pleased to see that nothing had changed for the worse since our last visit. The menu has changed slightly but you still get a great value meal in friendly, welcoming surroundings. Looking forward to our next visit in the new year.

We were promptly seated and our orders were taken. I had the chicken wings and salad with peri peri sauce, which was delicious. My wife's pate starter was even better. Both starters were well worth the £5 each. The peri peri sauce was outstanding. My main course, the Steak and kidney pie with vegetables and mash, was excellent and great value for £10. It was full of steak pieces and had a lovely taste. Unfortunately, my wife did not enjoy her fish and chips. Overall, three dishes were amazing and one was a disappointment. The menu is varied and the Christmas menu is available for £62, which is great value. It was one of the most relaxing pubs I have ever visited. (Visited on November 18th, 2023)
