Kings Tavern - Keswick

This restaurant is a fantastic spot to enjoy a drink, a delicious meal, or both. The management and staff are friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

The restaurant formerly known as C.J Barley's has new owners and management, but they still offer the usual selection of "redneck" dishes at the bar. We visited after the introduction of the new menu and were initially excited after trying the seafood bowl, which was delicious. However, our most recent visit was disappointing. It seems that many of their items are frozen. We started with Caesars, which were decent, but the calamari was not good - chewy and overly fishy. We sent it back. We also tried the rib wing special, and while the wings were tasty, the ribs were disappointing. They seemed to be side ribs and were not very good. Overall, we are unlikely to return to this restaurant.

I have never been so disgusted by the service at a restaurant before. I should have heeded the warnings of other reviewers. My grandparents and I waited for 40 minutes to pay after we finished our meal (having to ask for the bill multiple times and then wait for someone to return with the card machine). This was already forgotten when our server forgot to bring one of our drinks. When we asked her again, she questioned who had taken our order. She was passive-aggressive and eventually had someone else bring the card machine, but didn't hesitate to come collect the tip while we were gone. Overall, a terrible dining experience, but the food was decent. Maybe on a day when I'm not so upset about the service, I'll consider getting takeout. But probably not.

I was blown away what this place had to offer. the menu is massive with so many possibilities. you pad thai is surprisingly very good. the steak and lobster is decent and you can't go wrong at $30. wings are good and they have good choices for aromen. music is always good. the service is sometimes slow, but all the waiters I had are great. a great place in keswick. if they only put this place on the river or the lake and have an amazing outdoor terrace, they would be unbeatable!

Kings Tavern is a gem huge portions great price and a menu that has so much variety you will want to try everything! The staff are friendly and professional and make you feel super welcome. The only reason the restaurant comes short of 5 stars is the lack of flexibility with the menu for example the fish tacos come with 3 tacos at $16 for the order if you wan to share as an app you need to add a taco (and pay the difference) to make it 2 and 2.. well management will not allow that. Apart from that Kings Tavern is truly a phenomenal place to eat!! Highly recommend it!!!
