We had the pleasure of discovering a true gem while driving north—a restaurant with super fresh, authentic, and homemade Mexican food. We were in search of tacos and couldn't have made a better choice! The quesadillas are genuinely authentic, reminiscent of those in Baja, featuring large homemade flour tortillas folded perfectly in half. I personally enjoyed mine filled with fried zucchini flowers and cheese, and it was absolutely delicious—sabroso! The fresh homemade salsa bar is a standout, and the vegetarian street tacos were fantastic too. With Mamas in the kitchen, you can be sure it's the real deal. I highly recommend this place!
The food is excellent and has a wonderful flavor. The customer service is also very friendly. However, I believe the prices are quite high for a standard Mexican restaurant. For two people, you can expect to spend between $35 and $45.
Recently, I pulled up and figured I’d call in my order while still in the car to make things easier. I was in the mood for fish tacos, but since they didn’t have those, I opted for the carne asada beef tacos instead. I also wanted to know if they had any potato options, so I asked the irritated-sounding man on the phone if they served french fries or something similar. To my surprise, he hung up on me without any explanation. I tried calling back at least twice, but no one answered. On my third attempt, I walked into the restaurant to let him know that his behavior wasn't very nice, or I could just place my order at the counter. Instead, he was incredibly rude and seemed annoyed that I was there. The restaurant had only three other guests and was fairly quiet. He looked me straight in the eye and claimed he couldn’t talk because he was busy. I thought to myself that he could have at least placed me on hold or excused himself politely, but that didn’t seem to be on his agenda. It was disheartening to see him become even more irritable, and I couldn’t help but recall what a friend had mentioned about feeling uncomfortable during their first visit to this place. In the end, he kept interrupting me, and I decided to walk away, especially since a family with young kids was entering and I didn’t want to create a scene with such a hostile presence. Before leaving, I mentioned that I would be writing an honest review, so consider this your warning unless you fit a certain profile or speak fluent Spanish.
The food is outstanding, and the customer service is top-notch! This is truly the best Mexican restaurant in the city—very authentic!
