A must visit! Afternoon tea can get quite pricey as we all know, but this was a great novelty. We did not have reservations, and the host kindly allowed us a slot of about 45 minutes before the next reservation came. With only a weekend to spend in London, we took it. The tea selection was unparalleled, with various cakes and sandwiches. The biscuit, jam and clotted cream was to die for. I have always wanted to exper... View all feedback.
What Mónica María Escobar Álvarez doesn't like about Candella:
If your English is not at the best level, it is better that you do not go to this place, you may earn a shout from the waiter. The service very very very bad. The tea, sandwiches and desserts were very good, but too sweet. The place is very small but nice. It would have been a wonderful experience if it had not been for the poor and extremely unpleasant service. View all feedback.
Tourists from Germany here! : We really wanted to have a typical English Tea Time so after visiting Kensington Palace we looked for a restaurant. Kensington Palace was way too expensive (55£pp so a quick search on google maps lead us to this beautiful place! The Ambiente was fantastic a rather small room with comfi armchairs and cute porcelain. You instantly catch onto the vibe and feel like a nobel English Lady/gentleman. Service was great! Thank you Marcus for giving us the table so spontaneously and for helping us choose from the menu. They offer lots of different snacks from sandwiches to cakes simply ask the staff for their recommendations. The cakes were a bit too sweet for my taste BUT… The scones, people. Oh my god, I’m still dreaming about them. If you’re around and even if you have a longer way: this is a must! Would advise to reserve a table though to make sure you don’t miss out on the great tea (and Scones! . Please support this small business as I NEED to come back next time I’m in London for a cup of tea (and the Scones! :D
Such a fun and truly English experience! We are two French Canadian tourists/siblings who really wanted to have afternoon tea at Candella, but it was impossible to reserve on the website even one month ahead (very popular! . So we tried our luck with just stopping by, hoping for a cancellation… and luckily enough, they were able to accommodate us. The food tea were delicious, the setting was gorgeous and the staff were awesome! A huge shoutout to Marcus and Lorenzo for making our Tea time so memorable! We even forgot a shopping bag full of London souvenirs and they were kind enough to keep it safe until we could pick it up again the next day! Definitely a must-visit establishment during your stay in London! Try your luck even if you can’t reserve online!
Awful service and very rude waiters. A shame because the venue is so beautiful.

Gorgeous little place with scrumptious delights. I really enjoyed my first English tea here!
