An afternoon snack that might as well have been dinner! Two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone, a huge amount of ice cream. The Cuban coffee ice cream was excellent, and the chocolate was lovely! View all feedback.
What Outbacklover doesn't like about Rococo Dessert:
Have been to Kennebunkport many times and this time decided to try Rococo's ice cream. It was so sweet we couldn't eat it. Even the dogs rejected it. And it's ridiculously expensive-$15 for two small cups (including a small tip). So much is packed into a dinky little cup it's difficult to get a spoon in without it pushing out over the side and creating a mess. There are far better places in town to get ice cream. What an amazing experience!! We were on our way back to the car and something said to turn around and get dessert. I am so glad that we did! We had the best experience! We watched the bartenders work, they were so professional and courteous…answering all of our questions. The drinks were out of this world! The desserts (if possible) even better! We had 4 different desserts, all unexpectedly more delicious than the last! Vegan coconut-curry dessert…OMG, delicious! If you’re looking for cookie cutter-franchise ice cream place, this spot is not for you. If you’re looking for an experience with great, creative drinks and a dessert experience like no other, this is the place! Kudos!! We will be back for sure!
While the shop itself is so, so cute, the desserts were incredibly overpriced. We ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie Royale (gluten free) and fully expected for $16 that at least two of us could share it. Sadly, the GF option gives you three very small and crispy GF cookies and one small scoop of ice cream with 2-3 small decorative pipes of whipped cream. It was really disappointing, BUT kudos for atmosphere because they definitely nailed that aspect!
My husband and I were married in the summer of 2020 in my parent's back lawn with just a handful of people. Since so many places were closed we were limited to where we could go. We felt safe going to Maine. We found Kennebunkport and now it’s one of our favorite places to return to. Rococo’s was there and was a delicious treat during a dark time. The fun flavors, kind staff and nostalgia have kept us coming back for more. I brought my mother there she loves it and has ordered ice cream for us even though we live far away.
The dessert bar is exquisite!! So much attention and love in the details of the environment and dessert design. We will be back many more times!
Stopped here on a day out to Maine with a friend and my family. Sampled the banana red hot, which was excellent, but settled on the salty sweet cream flavor. It was so good, smooth and creamy and a flavor that reminded me of kettle corn. Definitely a must if you’re visiting kennebunkport!
