Very nice harmonic atmosphere. We were sitting upstairs. Besides the normal menu, they have a special vegetarian menu. As a starter I had a soup (which is always vegetarian) which was very good! As a main course I had a tart of beetroot and something else I forgot, but it tasted very well. It also looked very good. The potatoes very also quite nice and the salat had a sauce, that was nice. In general, I would go ther... View all feedback.
I accompanied two older related to this restaurant as their first time shielded for almost 18 months. the personal was so friendly and adapted to eat our special requirements (1 vegan, 1 gf with allergies and 1 others). we had a relaxed and pleasant meal; the food was cooked to a very high standard and beautifully presented.
The only fine restaurant in kendal awaits a small menu with at least one vegan dish for each cursor. weine are labeled vegan in the menu. blunt eating!
My partner and I had a wonderful vegan meal here on our last night of a sea trip and we loved the experience. the ambiente and the service were excellent and the vegan roasted cauliflower masala porn we both had was a kind of alchemy, we have every mouthful taste.
While we stayed in kendal overnight, we stumbled on this little gem- a family-run restaurant with a separate vegetarian menu that was actually predominantly vegan! eating was absolutely tasty, well seasoned, fresh made, large portions of none of the half dishes I often meet in london. they also have vegans. the personal was attentive, knowledgeable and very polite. I loved this place honestly, it can't fail at all (not that I would try anyway). it's a must when in kendal. I'd give them four if I could.
The Moon Highgate is a family business, offering excellent vegan options, fabulous desserts, a wine list with clearly labelled vegan wines, so it is heaven for diners like me. We were celebrating as it was World Vegan Day, kicking off World Vegan Month, my 31st vegan anniversary and my husband had just finished Go Sober for October. We ordered a very nice bottle of Kintu Cabernet Sauvignon, whilst perusing the menu, a difficult choice, as everything sounded so good. I chose salt baked beetroot salad, beetroot vinaigrette and walnuts to start and hubby king oyster mushroom confit with polenta, both excellent dishes. My main course was roast Jerusalem artichokes, cavolo nero and baked spelt and pumpkin ravioli for hubby with sides of Chantenay carrots and a side salad to share. What satisfying autumnal dishes they were, totally delicious. I was ruined for vegan dessert options, so ordered the bitter chocolate ganache and caramelised pineapple so we could share, how wonderful to have that choice, they were scrumptious and heavenly. We had a quick chat with chef Leon, who said he felt a bit limited on vegan options, but having had some poor experiences over the last two weeks at other restaurants, I think he is underselling himself, I think he is very creative. What a great place The Moon is, highly recommended to other vegans when in the area, we will certainly be making a return visit. Updated from previous review on 2017-11-05
