The Yellow House Resaurant - Kelowna

We frequent the Yellow House every couple of months and so far have been happy with our visits. The food is tasty and well prepared - but not exceptional. We have always been pleased by our interactions with the owner (Darren.) He is friendly, funny and professional. The service has always been good. Desserts are amazing! If you're looking for a nice dinner out that's not too pretentious then this is a great spot!

Six of us thought we'd give the Yellow House a try, for our daughter and son-in-law's anniversary. Because everyone was hungry, we ordered two appetizers to share. The baked brie was cold and the bruschetta was barely warm. Service was very slow. The filet and strip loin steak portions that the men ordered appeared to be under weight and certainly not worth $29 and $32. The rest of the meals were just okay. We were not overly impressed with our experience. Overall, the place needs a good clean, some fresh décor and a coat of yellow paint.

We ordered 5 different entrees to share amongst our family. The curry dish and the duck was delicious. The seafood noodles and the mango and brie stuffed chicken was ok. Of course everyone has different tastes, but that's just our opinion. I didn't like how I could tell the mangos used were frozen. The service was stellar and the restaurant was so cute. We didn't order any apps, which I wish we did. We would totally go back to try the apps. We also loved the nice touch of adding cranberries to our water and the butter was infused with maple that went with our bread. Nice touch!

We were welcomed by the owner or manager, who enthusiastically accommodated our request for a party of over 20 people. However, the band was a bit too loud.

This restaurant was a great discovery! I started with a delicious smoked salmon wrap appetizer and then enjoyed a salmon burger with a Caesar salad. It was exactly what I was looking for in a restaurant that offers fresh seafood options.
