The restaurant choice in Kayserberg is quite daunting. A number of the usual suspects specialising in Alsace cuisine and then some very upmarket options. This place was real find. It has tables outside but we ended up inside on a slightly cool evening. A small space but more net retaining as a result. It is run by the chef and one waiter. What Susanne Körner doesn't like about La Petite Auberge:
Nous sommes arrivés après 21 h dans ce restaurant, je ne sais pas si c'est cet horaire un peu tardif ... mais le moins que l'on puisse dire c'est que le serveur n'était pas des plus agréable, c'est pour cela que j'ai mis une note moyenne. Peut être était ce une mauvaise journée de sa part ? Revenons à la nourriture, j'ai pris un baekhoffa qui était assez bon, sur ce point vraiment rien à dire ! View all feedback.
We were here with the Christmas market, although the Reston was completely full we were lucky that a table of 6 just left before us. We had a starter and main. While waiting the super sympathetic waiter offered us a Christmas beer. With dinner we had a nice bottle of local Riesling. Ask the waiter for info ;
This was our second or third visit to Kaysersberg, but the first this restaurant. We very much liked it. Its outside seating is delightful and the service was very good. My wife had an excellent Flammkuchen (carte flambé given the fact that EVERY restaurant in Kaysersberg (and the rest of the Alsace offers this dish, this is high praise. I had rognons (kidneys : I know, that's not everyone's dish (including not my wife's , but it is a great French specialty and for those, who like it, this restaurant does a very, very nice job. We highly recommend it.

Arrived at this auberge later in the evening for a drink only but after seeing the menu couldn’t resist the temptation to eat. Delicious food and lovely wine from the local region.
We had a great experience. The service and food were both very good. Great option quality price wise in Kaysersberg.
