My post is a couple of weeks overdue, but here it is!I placed a catering order for Korean bbq chicken and it was GREAT as usual.Met Sam the owner who worked with me to ensure the chicken would be fresh, stay warm and presentable. His staff is really nice and especially David, who was courteous and helpful! We have been fans of Hoodadak since it's beginning, as it's clean, and has a nice ambiance with even private booths and will continue to be back again and again!
I've been coming to this Hoodadak location for years as it was my first experience with Korean fried chicken. Nowadays there's multiple locations and I've eaten at most of those. I think the service has dropped off pretty sharply at this particular location, but I know that understaffing is an issue at a lot of restaurants.I ordered a 5 piece tender meal for lunch. It's my favorite combination of soy garlic and sweet and spicy sauces with a side of truffle parmesan fries! The food was fantastic as always! The tenders had a nice crisp, the sauce was perfection, and the fries were seasoned very well! However, our waiter definitely had a difficult time keeping up with all the tables and making sure everyone's drinks were filled. The restaurant was half full for lunch. We had a booth for our party of 5 and it was a little frustrating to constantly get up and ask to refill drinks. It might be helpful to have pitchers with water at each table like some Korean restaurants around Houston do. This would help a little bit with slower service or new staff that's getting acquainted with their role at the restaurant.
