Fantastic big meals at a sensible price. Pleasant staff in this old Aussie pub. Meals are a little bit more than a normal pub but worth it. Great steak we had here View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The North KAPUNDA:
Booked for dinner. No service. Then the food was something out of a nightmare! How can food be made to look and taste like something no one would eat? When I mentioned how bad it was it was just a: Oh well that's what we serve. Like too bad and who cares. Give this place a big MISS! Nothing good to say about the whole experience. View all feedback.
Very impressed with the menu from a vegetarian stand point as having more than one choice is a luxury in most pubs.
I had the pleasure of dining here a few weeks agoWhile waiting to be seated I noted that they were taking orders over the phone as well.

Called at the North Kapunda Hotel for lunch yesterday, the second time in a month.I was impressed the first time and even more impressed this time because the service and quality of the meal was better than the first time, and that first meal was excellent. This time there were three of us, and our choices were varied. One beef schnitzel, one warm chicken salad and one nasi goreng. The schnitzel was quite large, the pepper sauce was nice and " peppery ", although the quantity was a little less that I would prefer, the warm chicken salad was large, with what my wife said was " a huge amount of warm, well cooked and moist chicken pieces " on a bed of salad. She loved it. The nasi goreng was a substantial serve, with lots of large prawns. I was told it was delicious. My schnitzel was tender, not too smothered in crumbs and served with chips, (again too much pepper sauce on the chips, which were fresh and crispy on the outside ), and a small ramekin of salad. I would have liked a bit more salad on the plate and not in a ramekin, but overall, I had a good meal. A bottle of North Kapunda Hotel Shiraz at $ 18 was a good investment and 2 Pinot Noir bottles ( 200cc) for $ 8.00 each went down well. The service was excellent and the staff and management were very friendly and efficient. This hotel's lunch is excellent value for money and well worth a 'phone call to make a booking. I am told evening meals are even more popular. Would I dine here again, most definitely. Next time I'm in the area, I will book in for the Ghost Tour as well as dinner.
I came across this gem of A PUB when i was visiting the area .. the Exe chef there has worked all over asia and australia . The food is to die for ... especially the Peking Duck
