Java Kai
4.4 / 5 (4474 reviews)

Description

Java Kai shines as a breakfast destination with its delectable menu and exceptional coffee. Highlights include the Portuguese sausage sandwich and Belgian waffle, both praised for their freshness and flavor. While the staff is generally friendly and accommodating, some reviews indicate inconsistencies in service, with occasional lapses in attentiveness. The café prides itself on its variety, offering solid vegetarian and vegan options, but cleanliness—especially in restrooms—has been noted as an area for improvement. Despite minor flaws, the overall experience is enjoyable, making Java Kai a must-visit for food lovers in Kauai.

Long line but wait wasn’t bad. Food was delicious. Avocado toast and surfer girl were delicious and generous portions. Smoothie was good and filling with peanut butter. Would love to have tried a dessert/treat but didn’t make it back. Kapa’a has a really good food scene. But expect any outdoor dining to include chickens. :

Busy place! Good drinks but be ready to wait in line and then wait a bit for your drink. But the drinks are delicious and always good quality. I will be back here again soon.

Food and Customer Service were excellent. They were far too busy. They handle it well for how small they are, but the wait was a bit much for take out. Acai bowls and coffee were great!

Breakfast/brunch was absolutely amazing. Everyone in our family loved their food! Waffles, burrito, and breakfast sandwich were delicious.

This is such a cute little coffee shop in Kapaa. They had a line out the door first thing in the morning in a weekday which is always a good sign. There was seating outside and a lot of it was taken, but we were able to get a table for 4. My dad waited in line and it only took him about 10 minutes to get through the line and out with his cappuccino so not bad! I also noticed they had a QR code you could scan and order without waiting in line and I love that idea! I can’t comment on the food as we only got the cappuccino. The foam was great, espresso was pretty smooth, just a slight burned taste on the finish. But all in all, a really tasty espresso and it definitely gave me a great jolt!
