Java Kai
4.4 / 5 (4474 reviews)

Description

Java Kai shines as a breakfast destination with its delectable menu and exceptional coffee. Highlights include the Portuguese sausage sandwich and Belgian waffle, both praised for their freshness and flavor. While the staff is generally friendly and accommodating, some reviews indicate inconsistencies in service, with occasional lapses in attentiveness. The café prides itself on its variety, offering solid vegetarian and vegan options, but cleanliness—especially in restrooms—has been noted as an area for improvement. Despite minor flaws, the overall experience is enjoyable, making Java Kai a must-visit for food lovers in Kauai.

They had a really good spicy chai that you could get hot or cold. They also have a lot of great breakfast options like granola and yogurt as well as a nice array of baked goods.

Good vegetarian and vegan options. we had açaí dishes (açaí sorbet, fresh fruit and very tasty house granola). the only mistake I could find was that I liked a bit more granola. I had a smoothie and my wife the shark bite coffee. both were good. great service. comfortable seating in the open, limited interior.

Java Kai is a must-visit whenever we travel to Kauai. This coffee shop is the best on the island! The breakfast sandwiches and waffles are incredibly delicious, and the coffee drinks are fantastic as well. I also tried the delicious matcha mango smoothie, which was great! Just a heads-up: if your group has more than two people, you might have to wait a bit for a table.

Food and Customer Service were excellent. They were far too busy. They handle it well for how small they are, but the wait was a bit much for take out. Acai bowls and coffee were great!

Long line but wait wasn’t bad. Food was delicious. Avocado toast and surfer girl were delicious and generous portions. Smoothie was good and filling with peanut butter. Would love to have tried a dessert/treat but didn’t make it back. Kapa’a has a really good food scene. But expect any outdoor dining to include chickens. :
