I recently tried a local restaurant that serves traditional family-style cooking, reminiscent of the dishes from Louisiana. The spice level was just right for someone with a midwest palate, and I appreciated that no unnecessary jokes or gimmicks were used to dumb down the authentic flavors. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Jazz A Louisiana Kitchen:
We had a great beginning to our meal with attentive service and delicious food. However, when the music started, it was too loud to have a conversation or connect with each other. We likely won't be returning as we value our family time and being able to catch up, which was not possible in this noisy atmosphere. View all feedback.
The service was good, but that was what it was about. I've never heard of a new orleans Po-Junge that was made with bier broken garnels? I don't know what was in the cocktail sauce, but it was different than anything I ever tasted. I had cloaked that was not terrible, but without a decent cocktail sauce it was not good. everything I can say is to stay away.
Came in for lunch. Great menu. After living in Louisiana for years, the gumbo was very good. Also had the mamou andouille poboy. It was excellent. Bread before lunch was good. The atmosphere is like many authentic rural Louisiana dives. Service was excellent. Right near KU Med center.
The restaurant was dirty- especially the bathrooms. The waitress was horrible. We had to ask for everything. Appetizer plates, napkins, silverware, beverage refills and she only had 3 tables so it was not staff issues. The crab is immatation crab ? Yuck! The Crawfish appetizer smelled to fishy so that means the meat was about to turn bad .. The chicken tenders were awesome and the chicken pasta was good but seafood was horrible. We will not be back. Especially since it was supposed to be a super nice restaurant. The pasta portions were big but not impressed other than that. Parking was horrible to try and find as well. You should have designated spots for people who are eating there only!
Super delicious! So much fun! I have been going to Jazz since I was 17 years old. 39 now and it's still one of my favorite places. Plus I get to take my kids and they enjoy it as well. I honestly haven't tried many options on the menu. I have been stuck on seafood fettuccine only and can't get enough! I love the music but you have to prepare for how loud it is. The play up a level right in the middle of the restaurant. It's a lot fun! Always packed. We waited an hour but at this location you can walk around the mall while waiting!
This is my absolute favorite place. I love the live music, atmosphere, and the food is excellent. I go here as often as I can. I always get the blackened chicken with succotash. Magnifique! It's served over dirty rice. You get a little cup of melted butter and a new potato. I also love their spiced butter that comes with the bread.
