Description

Nestled in a historic brick building in downtown Kankakee near the Paramount Cinema, Stefari Café is a charming, locally owned spot celebrated for expertly brewed Blueprint coffee, inventive lattes (lavender, vanilla, chai with coconut milk) and melt-in-your-mouth muffins. The breakfast-and-lunch menu — from paninis and salads to a standout breakfast toast — complements warm, stylish decor with two dining rooms (bright and intimate). Friendly staff, good music and inviting views make it ideal for studying, casual dates or relaxed group visits, though prices run slightly high.

Drive from Kenosha, considered an early cup of luck and found this cute coffee shop. Friendly and hip staff, warm and stylish decor. Had lavender and vanilla coffees and panini sandwiches. Sitting in a large historical brick building.

Stefari was a jewel in a “blase, but try to come back city”. What a surprise at such a gloomy gray Drippy day to find a really welcoming, pleasant and so charming little coffee shop. A truly dedicated couple serves one of the best lattes I had with muffins that melt in your mouth! You must try this on your journey through IL.

This is an ideal spot for doing homework. The coffee is excellent, the ambiance is fantastic, the music is top-notch, and the views are stunning! The owners are incredibly friendly. I'm happy to drive 35 minutes to get here.

What a find! Stefari is a dining gem in old Kankakee (just up the street from the Paramount Cinema). The drinks are amazing (I had the chai with coconut milk) and the food was even better! UPDATE: Another great meal at a great price!

I visited the cafe on a Wednesday at around 1 PM, and I found plenty of seating available. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and charming. They offer vegetarian options as well. There are two dining areas: one is quite bright, while the other has a dimmer, more private ambiance—ideal for introverts or anyone seeking a little solitude. I chose to sit in the private room to enjoy some peaceful knitting. I ordered a salad and a cup of black coffee, both of which were excellent. I highly recommend this cafe!
