What Renee L doesn't like about Rigo's Place:
We were a party of 6. One of us got blackened Scallops over pasta with creamy champagne sauce for $40. Scallops were undercooked. Restaurant recooked them then they were really good. Over priced for $40. Another dish was seafood pasta with shrimp, muscles, clams baby scallops. Muscles tasted a bit off. View all feedback.
Great food with a very neat ambiance. The food has a little kick to it. I had the blackened chicken and had to keep drinking water in between bites. Not horrible where it ruined the taste, just something to note. My boyfriend had the Italian sausage pasta and said it had a little kick as well. The shrimp is nice size, almost seemed like two put together. We had the tomato soup and it was beyond delicious, not sure how they spruced up tomato soup like that. Really enjoyed this restaurant.
Had a very nice waiter named Austin he remembered us from another restaurant won't mention the name in this review out of respect for Rigo's place. Food was delicious, atmosphere wonderful. Will be returning to this place again prices weren't so bad either for such a nice place matter fact they were excellent prices for the food that you get.
Truly great service, live piano playing and fantastic food
Great Kankakee venue. You can feel the staff's genuine desire to provide exceptional service. Blackened shrimp over angel hair and NY Strip with double baked and asparagus were both exceptional. Crab/shrimp cake appetizer is interesting, you'll either love it or hate it for its uniqueness. Good value for the experience.
After we had a bad experience in another restaurant, we ended up in the Rigo's and oh what a difference. We appeared 5 minutes before the opening and were greeted by a very gracious host. The place is very clean and stylish. Waiters were super professional. The food was delicious. I ordered sea bass and my husband got the tender. Bread was great, but the salad was just a piece of tomatoes and a cucumber with a bunch of salad. Great music. We're out of town, but if we ever go back to Kankakee, we'll definitely eat again at Rigo. The menu has no options to explore. Parking was large. By the way, they speak Spanish!
