after a 4 hours walk at the lake of Oschenen we wanted to have a good meal before going home. on the lake we could not find a proper place, but right in front of the gondola station we found this restaurant. use is that they can get proper .food, which not only means the carving and pommes frites (they naturally serve it when they want.) eating was of great quality and the staff was very friendly. when we come back f... What User doesn't like about Ermitage:
We ate a good Cheese Fondue with nice white Valais wine. Had some troubles getting a salad, because the grumpy owner/waiter of the hotel not think this was a good idea. Had a hard time convincing him that something veggie was healthy besides the fondue....Apart from the Swiss grumpiness we had a good time on the terrace. View all feedback.
The hotel is located a bit away from Kandersteg center, but new clean rooms. However, the manager was not pleasant to treat. The man seemed to use people who use booking platforms instead of booking directly, and made sure that his resentment was known instead of trying to be helpful. If you don't like being treated like garbage, look elsewhere. Edit: Subtraction of 1 star for distracting responsibility in response, instead of trying to understand what went wrong.
The room was very nice, we had the premium double room with south balcony, which I can recommend. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well designed. Unfortunately, the hot tube does not work at the moment, which was unfortunately, as we specifically booked for it. Dinner on the first night was nice, breakfast okay. The sauna is very nice, but it costs extra what we didn't know until we had to buy. the bill.
