Eggroll Plus - Kanata

The food at this restaurant was incredible! It is the best Chinese food in Ottawa, and I highly recommend it. The staff member at the front was very kind, helpful, and patient with our child.

I had no problem being told it would be an hour and twenty minutes to deliver on Christmas Eve. Called back after two hours and was told it was on the way. Called back at three hours and was told it would be another 45 minutes, so cancelled. Lots of other options in the area, so NEVER AGAIN.

Chinese food typically adds up when you order multiple dishes. I’m ok with that. But for $15, I think it would be great to get the dinner plate-sized take out containers, and not the small stryrofoam container they use for the side of white rice. When all is said and done, I spent $87. Fine, but... The General Tso chicken was mushy and lacked flavour. The lemon chicken had sauce was on the side. It was cold and coagulated. The chicken meat was meagre and the breading was stale and overwhelming to the meat to batter ratio. I’d rather have moist chicken tenders from ANY other fast food establishment. The fried rice had little taste, obviously pre-cooked well in advance. Broccoli in the broccoli and beef dish was ok, but beef was tasteless. I should mention that this was a Saturday night. Not a Wednesday. Food should be hot and fresh. Even fortune cookies were all broken. I’m not the type to write reviews, but if I had seen this write up, I would have avoided a disaster. A family still hungry after an $87 take out is unacceptable. I hope the establishment tries a little harder to salvage their reputation.

On December 22nd had a take out order and the food arrived promptly and hot. We had egg rolls, spring rolls, General Tso Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Crispy Beef and Chow Mien with Bbq Pork. All of the meat was delicious and very tender, the sauces were excellent.

Ordered take out and the egg rolls were tasty. The rest of the food was not great, chicken balls were heavily breaded.
