Lo/cal Coffee Market Fairfax

I've been a couple times and the coffee is pretty good, nice ambiance etc. However on my last visit I was upset to see a 9.5% sales tax charged for my to-go cappuccino, as well as a 3% credit card surcharge. In CA, hot beverages such as coffee and tea are not taxable if sold to-go. I did not notice any signs indicating that there would be a fee for credit card transactions. For these two reasons, I will not return.

You thought it was just great coffee? Nope the sandwich game is strong here! Pastrami, munster, horseradish, brussels the #BeachCitySandwich ???

Beautiful vibes, quiet plant filled cafe with lots of seating and some outlets, wood furniture and quaint Hollywood music playing. Kind service. Tasty drinks. 5/5!!

I NEVER write bad reviews but I'm actually heartbroken. I have had this jacket that belonged to my late grandma since I was 14 years old. I have had a horribly difficult month and of course icing on the cake, finally lost the jacket because I have been so overwhelmed.I called Lo/Cal because I go almost once a week, my gut told me that's where I left it. I call to find out the manager THREW IT AWAY!! Not even donated, TRASHED! They said it was because it was there for a FEW DAYS and I guess that's too long??I'm so so so sad. I have worked at restaurants and bars for years and we never did something so cruel after only a few days, we've held onto things for months, you have no clue how much something might mean to someone. To be such a loyal customer and they can't even return the favor is just so awful and I can't stop crying. I hope they never do this to someone ever again.

The egg avocado sandwich is my favorite thing there! We also ordered the yogurt parfait and it looked really good. I would definitely try it next time i come here. The coffee is good. The atmosphere is a great place for a ‘work’ ‘study’ vibe. They have doggy treats for your pet!The only downside is it’s not a big place with a lot of seating so you might not find a place to sit. Anyway, i highly recommend.
