This small restaurant / cafe may look simple from the outside, and it is on the back street of Gunaghlin's main road, but having fed several friend's families on their takeaway menus, now birthday dinner tonight - they are excellent! We have traveled Japan many...More View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Ogawa:
good portion benton, surprisingly delicious and fresh sashimi. miso suppe was mediocre, but I was happy with eating. what most disappointed me was the service, very slow. at the end of our meal I stood up to ask for the removal of container, then there was a kerl (properly manager? who thought I would run away or so, called me to come to his side with the Eftpos machine. that was unacceptable. never come back, there... Fantastic casual Japanese. There is also a secret (non-English) menu you can order from according to the people sitting next to us!!! Will be back when next in Berra.
Really enjoyed the food. And prices were pretty good too. All in all a wonderful little place hidden away in Gungahlin.
My wife and decided to try out this little new Japanese restaurant in our local area I'm glad we did! From the outset the service was excellent and our waitress was very accommodating. Its a quaint little place don't expect too much in the way of decore but for what it is its great. We ordered the spicy enamames for entree, sushimi and Chicken Katsu for mains. The enames (spicy soy beans) were yummy and so moorish! The tuna was nice although I have had better grade tuna and the Katsu was seriously delicious accompanied with a lovely subtle curry sauce.. All the food was fresh and vibrant. To add the restaurant is licensed and has a wonderful beer on the menu being Black Asahi at a very good price and my wife had a very generous glass of a lovely white wine. Overall we will be going back thats certain.
I had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant. The price per person ranges from A$20 to A$40. The food was outstanding, I would give it a 5 out of 5 rating. The service was also excellent, I would rate it a 5 out of 5 as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great, I would give it a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Ogawa Bento Box and the Miso Soup when visiting this restaurant.
