I loved it, the waffles were great! Icecream had a lot of flavour and the lady at the counter was CUTE! Was greeted with a smile and would definitely go again! Yummo! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Smugglers Cove Ice Creamery:
**Ice Options**: The selection of ice was quite limited, and it tasted like it had been frozen and thawed multiple times, resulting in an unpleasant texture with ice crystals.
**Customer Service**: A misunderstanding during the ordering process created a very uncomfortable situation, and the lack of proper customer service made it even worse.
**Staff**: The server seemed disinterested and truly embodied the "pirate theme," which was not a good thing. The atmosphere felt like a quiet cave, especially with so few customers around, and the lack of patrons was the first warning sign.
I hope others can take this into account and avoid the same disappointment I experienced.
Very disappointing, really should 've read the comments before entering. Hope others read this to avoid disappointment. Ice cream: Not much choice in ice cream, and tastes like it has been defrosted and re-frozen with chrystals in it. Customer service: A misunderstanding while taking our order, resulted in a very awkward situation with zero customer service. Staff: The lady that served us looked like she didn 't care at all and defo matches the 'pirate theme '. Not trying to be mean, but when staff are wearing a dirty shirt and barely have any teeth, it gives a certain impression and it doesn 't look very professional. Environment: The place has cute decorations but no music. This turns it into a very quiet cave, especially with no other customers around. The lack of customers is your first red flag.
Unfortunately I cannot select a fraction of a star. What a massive wasted opportunity in Kalbarri. The place looked nice and I liked the theme, I did not check reviews before going but the lack of customers on such a hot day should have been a warning sign. The icecream was unfortunately lacking flavour. Only 3 choices for the kids and 2 with alcohol unmarked, staff had to taste the icecream to make sure before serving(or may have just been hungry... . Thickshake was a milkshake with no flavour and was warm. We didn't hang around to try the food. We got a refund for the drinks. Staff seemed enthusiastic and friendly but could be a bit more professional. Suspect poor managment letting the place down as people generally don't intend to dissapoint. Very dissapointing. Would not class as an icecreamery. Went to IGA and sorted our own thickshakes. This place should be making a ton of money...
Wish I had read the reviews before bringing my kids here. A whopping 6 flavours to choose from. Woah! *insert sarcasm here. Tasted very average, kind of icy and bland. My son ordered an ice cream sundae which was so small, for $15! Not cool. Kid behind the counter was desperately wishing to be anywhere but here. Could not be less enthused. In a town that relies on tourism, and has proven to be excellent, it’s time for the ice creamery to rise to the challenge. Very disappointed.
Utterly utterly terrible. There was about 6 or 7 flavours many which didn’t have a label nor did the woman serving actually know what they were. Ice cream was rubbish, crystalline like it had been in the freezer for years. Save yourself $5 and go to the IGA in town, buy a whole tub of ice cream and your own cones and you’ll be better off. All of the bad reviews on here are true.
Limited variety in ice creams, however the ones we did try were nice. Waffles and donuts were tasty. The young waitress/cashier was a bit strange and acted rudely. She even went so far as to ask us the price of the donuts when she was ringing up the order. She also made a point of trying to be a donut sales-person, very in-your-face attitude considering we had already intended on trying their homemade donuts. Good food. Odd service.
