Shimaichi Sushi Kona - Kailua Kona

Really delicious, fresh sushi in a stripe mall location with clean, but basic decoration. Plating is thrilled. They have both interior and exterior seats. The staff and sushi kitchen were friendly and helpful. They close at 7:30 and last call is at 7:10, so plan accordingly. You have a few daily specials on board. Parked in the free crowd opposite the Farmer's Market location. Really glad we stopped! Worth a visit.

This place is a real jewel. We stumbled about it because Ohana Q was closed next door. That was a blessing. We had Sushi and Sashimi in different places in Hawaii and they were all okay. Sushi is right here. We like tempura and it's hard to screw that or make it amazing. With her sauce... it was amazing. We read the comments about the miso soup saying it was Bland. Far from that it was tasteful with a lot of Umami. We have tried many different things on the menu and enjoyed everything. The service was fantastic in a fairly low key position. The best part was the price...for quality and quantity especially when compared to anywhere else served the same. If you are a sushi and sashimi lover, you will not be disappointed here.

This was one of our favorite meals during the visit of kona. we went to dinner and it was absolutely delicious! very fresh and high quality. thank you!

Sushi was fresh and service was good. Early arrival or make reservations, they are busy very early.

First of all, I only use this restaurant only one time and can't guarantee that my experience could be your experience. I ordered the lunch special (Lunch Special A) and taken out to eat from my house. When I open the lunch box (togo box), I was kind of disappointed with that visual. There was 10 pieces including one drink and I paid 12$ for this. Probably it is not a bad deal since here is Hawaii. However it still does not give any satisfaction on my lunch. Probably I will try to eat the roll in the restaurant. (The taste of the roll was not bad, and the counter usher was nice). The parking space is limited and you may need to park your car in the public parking lot in front of the farmers market.
