Waipapa Bay Crayfish Camp - Kaikoura

Stopped here as the competition down the road didnt have eftpos. Glad we did as the crayfish was delicious!

This was the best place I stayed during my tour of New Zealand! I visited in winter, so it was pretty cold, but the owners were incredibly thoughtful. They gave me a token for an extra-long shower to help me warm up, and later, I was treated to a delicious warm stew on the house! I felt so welcomed there. I had wonderful conversations with the lovely lady who runs the place—such kind and friendly people! It's a beautiful spot to stay, especially for a walk by the water at sunrise. I captured some of my best pictures there, including seals against the backdrop of the rising sun. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit! I regret that it took me over two years to finally write this review.

The camping area is fantastic, and the hosts are incredibly friendly, going out of their way to make you feel welcome. The grounds are clean, and it's just a stone's throw from the beach, which is also a great spot for crayfish. The only downside is the trains, but I suppose that's a trade-off for staying on the coast. I won’t hesitate to return soon!

The owners of this restaurant are incredibly kind and supportive! My friend and I found ourselves stranded on a rock while fishing as the tide came in. They came down to the beach to assist us in getting back to shore. Afterward, they welcomed us inside, offered us a complimentary shower, and even tended to my foot, which I injured while swimming back. They're very genuine people, and the campsite they have by the beach is lovely.

Bought some bluff oysters and a pawa wrap...YUM
