I enjoy fish and chips almost as much as I enjoy tacos. The Sandbar serves some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. I ordered the medium size, and it was quite filling, but we loved it so much that we ended up ordering extra to share. The halibut was lightly breaded with a nice, crispy coating, and the fish was moist and perfectly cooked. However, the fries were fairly average. The three-star rating reflects the unpleasant experience we had with the cashier, who was unfriendly and rude, wearing a constant scowl. The beer battered chicken strips are tasty, well seasoned and battered. Batter is so delicious and crispy. I recommend and say try it.
The food here was seriously good. The fish and chips were dank and the sandwiches delicious. Pretty typical bar atmosphere but the drinks were reasonably priced and the patrons and staff friendly. 9/10 recommend.
What a great spot while visiting Juneau. Our tour guide dropped us off here. While it's not any of the fancy tourist places. This is where the locals go for great fish and chips and great beer. The GM Captain Marvel (ex coast guard) will treat you right.
This is the spot! Feels like a total townie bar we are used to back home. Mostly a local dive with some tourists here and there. Amazing halibut, cold beer, friendly bartenders. My kind of place!
Definitely a long standing place! Atmosphere is old town bar/restaurant. But……the food is Awesome! Best we have had all week in Juneau! The halibut is phenomenal!! Had burgers that put everyone else to shame. Highly recommend! We are from Michigan and we love our beef! Was very surprised by this place!
