This is one of the few good restaurants you would find in Jorhat town. The Assamese thali here is must-try! The fish, and the duck curries are great as well. Although I live in a different state in the country, I make sure I visit this place at least once on my visit to my hometown Jorhat. The owner is a nice person and he tries his best to keep the quality, service, and hygiene at good standards.

Having seen the sign from outside whenever I passed by Mithapukhuri, I always wanted to try out this restaurant. I visited this place 2 times. Here are the key takeaways from my own experience. The place is pretty simply decorated. Nothing too fancy. Most of the stuff are handled by older folks. It looks like a family-run restaurant. The seating can get a it crampy and there are no comfort seating like sofas, etc. The food tastes more home-made rather than what you get a t a typical Indian restaurant. It has a touch of local Assamese cuisine in most of the dishes, whether they are Assamese or non-Assamese. Their customers are also mainly Assamese middle-class families. Their main dish: the Assamese Thali , is nicely portioned and includes a sufficient variety of items. The only main element that needs working on is making their Indian dishes more standardized. The made-at-home taste may have been be a homerunner for the local patrons, but if they want to attract non-Assamese customers, there has to be more variety of spices and different cooking techniques for the North Indian dishes. Will definitely come back for more!

Best assamese thali experience! Loved the food. I personally loved the fish jhol ,chicken curry and green chutney. Must visit atleast once!

Meridian is the great place for authentic and delicious Assamese food. Assamese Thali is the speciality of this restaurant. You can add non vegetarian items with this Thali. You can also choose different types of tasty river fishes and mouth watering duck meat. Ambience is good. Excellent service by young ladies and friendly attitude. Above all the young and dynamic owner Subrata and his mother are superb hosts.
