Went for a family dinner. Place was good, well lighted sitting area, service was fast. Thalis are a better option to eat. Veg thali starts at Rs100 which comes with steam rice, beguni, sukhto, jackfruit sabzi, dal, aam chutney, papad. Add meat and fish items are reasonable in comparison to quantity and quality. The mutton Kosha is a must try here.
It is very important for Bengalis to find atleast one resturant outside his/her native place where authentic food is served. This is such a place in jorhat. I won't say all the foods have the authentic bengali flavour but most of them have. It is a must visit for all to get a taste of authentic bengali cuisine here.
As a bengali, I can vouch for the authenticity of their cuisine. Their Veg Thali and some of the fish items are superb in taste as well as economical too. I often order their veg thali over zomato for dinner. However, it is not available many a times. Other than this, I love their their morog polao, hilsa/Ilish mutton recipes. If you are a food lover, you must definitely visit this place.
It was a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant in Jorhat dishing out authentic Bengali cuisines. The ambience, decor and service standards are at the best. Although the puritans might not rate the food completely as 'authentic Bengali ', the food didn 't disappoint at all. In case you are planning to visit, try the restaurant on a working day rather than on a Sunday, as it gets quite crowded.
