Feedback

★ 4 / 5 from 4500 reviews

The River Inn offers fantastic food and service, with slight disappointments reported in some reviews. The fish and chips were underwhelming to some, but the rest of the menu received praise. While there were issues with slow service and forgotten orders, the overall experience seems to hinge on these isolated incidents. The portion sizes are generous, and the kids' menu is enjoyable. Despite a few negative experiences, the majority of customers seem to be highly satisfied with their meals at The River Inn and are eager to return for more delicious food and attentive service.

Had the worst experince ever here tonight. Myself and husband orderd fish and chips the chips were like fried mash and the fish was un edible when i complained i was brushed off. when i was given the bill the manger asked about the food i explained and was told that yes at times the fish IS UNEDABLE.This was the managers word he was very aggreissive and did not show any care. Please dont waste your money

Was attending a birthday party. Portions large. Had chicken pasta. Personally thought chunks of chicken were far too big hence the stars. Otherwise, excellent. Would return.

Was in here with my wife today, lunch. Wow. Outstanding food. Lentil soup starters, then fish n chips for me which was a huge portion, fish, chips, peas, tartar sauce and a huge pickled onion. Wife had salt n pepper chicken with a Thai dip and spicy salad which she says was absolutely beautiful. Great staff, great service, and spotlessly clean too. Definitely be back soon. Solid

We had a great meal at The Carvery last Friday, November 24th. The food was excellent as always, thanks to Jason's usual high standards. However, we were disappointed to hear from Angela that the restaurant would be closing on Sunday, November 26th. The restaurant seemed busy with a large party of about 50 women celebrating, but it seems it was not enough to keep the business going. We will miss The Carvery!

Popped in for dinner ad-hoc. Ate in the main restaurant. Nice enough venue, quiet as midweek. Starter of Salt Chili Chicken was uninspiring as breaded chicken goujons, sliced with an indeterminate sauce which didn't meet expectations, dish was neither salt or chili. Nachos were decent and well received although sour cream was off the menu that day. Steak was very good, but the Blaggis Supper is something which although piqued my interest from the menu, will never be ordered again. It is the illegitimate child of 2 good puddings and not a culinary masterpiece. Served with fries on a plate, on paper, with a boat of onion sauce, which added further confusion to the plating presentation.
